Sixty nine year old neurologist Dr. Pierre Dukan says in the New York Times: “I am reaching out to you with the certainty that I can help you put an end to the inevitability of weight problems in North America.”
Dr. Dukan has already sold millions of his diet books.
Many critics are calling his diet just a rehashed Atkins diet that is likely to just be a fad.
Why?
The fundamentals of the diet are high protein just like the Atkins diet. The difference, at least from the original Atkins diet, is that it is also low fat, includes lots of water, bran, and veggies.
Which is totally different from Atkins in its original form. Some interesting diet foods allowed are a couple of nice wine and dessert days, but oddly, no fruit.
This is likely to be because the high sugar content in fruit.
The veggies aren’t added until the 2nd phase of the 4 phase diet called: “cruise”.
Dr. Pierre also recommends light exercise. The exact workout is 20 minutes of walking and always taking the stairs.
According to the Boston Globe, Giselle Bundchen and Kate Middleton are both on the Dukan Diet.
Kate, soon to be a princess, wants to insure that she is in her “see through dress form” when its said she first caught Prince William’s eye. She just recently sold that see through dress for $125,000 at auction.
